Turnkey design, build and fit out of a new flight operations centre

Project: Turnkey design, build and fit out of a new flight operations centre

Sector: Commercial

Scope: Located on the site of a former RAF base, Paradigm Interiors were delighted to be invited to work in partnership with the world’s leading drone airline, SkyPorts, for the design and construction of their new HQ for training and operations with meeting and office space and a dedicated flight operations control centre at Westcott Venture Park in Aylesbury.

Working on the design process whilst the new building was still under construction, and with a clear vision from the client as to how the new space should look and operate, Paradigm transformed  a new build warehousing unit and first floor commercial offices into a functional and sophisticated office and meeting space, with a Hi-Tech integrated flight control centre to facilitate the potential flight and operation of drones in any location, across the world, straight from the heart of Buckinghamshire’s largest business park.

Working in unison with Skyports own nominated contractors and in-house drone technicians to deliver the project, our works also included the creation of a new teapoint, enhanced DALI lighting systems, remotely controlled window blinds for the flight operations room and AV equipment installed to the client’s own specification.

All works were completed within the clients requested timescales and within the allocated budget.

Budget: £110k

Duration: 8 weeks

"In 2025 we asked Wayne and the team at Paradigm Interiors to support the build of our new office space, which now serves as our HQ element for training and operations. From the first visit they made the process straightforward, and as the space began to take shape, they were flexible and patient as I made changes to the original plan. Nothing was ever a problem, and they adapted quickly without losing momentum on the work.

One of the things that stood out was how well they brought my design ideas to life. Wayne kept track of the decisions we were making as the project evolved, which made it much easier to stay aligned with budget while still achieving the standard we wanted.

The working relationship was easy throughout.

Communication was clear, decisions were documented, and the project stayed on track.

The team on site were professional, took real pride in their work, and the quality of the finish shows that. It was also helpful having one team manage the full scope rather than dealing with multiple trades. Paradigm handled everything end to end, which kept the project moving and made the whole process more predictable.

We’ve since had a range of visitors through the new space, from industry partners and authorities to news crews, and the reaction has been consistently positive. The office now represents us in the way we hoped it would.

I would not hesitate to recommend Wayne and Paradigm Interiors, and when we move into future work, they will be the first people I speak to.”
